How Well Known is KWU throughout the Midwest?

There are plenty of reasons how our school is known and there are some of why we aren’t.  Some examples of how Kansas Wesleyan is known are that the school is a university is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, athletics, and the educations that you can get from KWU.

Athletics at Kansas Wesleyan are a very large part of the university.  Majority of the students at the school are student-athletes and are from all over the nation.  The ratio of student-athletes to students is eight to ten.  Kansas Wesleyan is part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics or NAIA.  Kansas Wesleyan is in the Midwest region of the NAIA schools and is part of the KCAC.  The KCAC is the conference that the school is in and it stand for the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.  There is a large quantity of people that come from different states to play sports.  On the football team there are kids from more of the Midwest to West part of the nation.  The soccer team there is mainly kids from California, but there is some Texas almost in Mexico.  Then in the other sports such as basketball, volleyball, golf, baseball, and track there are kids from coast to coast.  Then in the sports football and soccer the teams are ranked high in the nation for the NAIA schools.  Football is ranked 12^th in the nation with a 5-0 record, then soccer is ranked 25^th in the nation for the first time in the school’s history with a 13-3 record.

At Kansas Wesleyan University there are numerous fields that you can go in to find what career you want to begin in your post college life.  Kansas Wesleyan is very big on having students come out of college ready for the real world and in a great job to make good money and have a good life.  Some fields that are very largely known for at KWU are the Nursing program, the athletic training program, the business program, and others.  The athletic training program is one of the best programs in the KCAC and in the nation for NAIA schools.  Then you can get a good degree in the new nursing program at Kansas Wesleyan.  This program has just started this fall and the school was given $37,500 to get it up and running.  At this school you can get your master’s in a business program.

With Kansas Wesleyan University being a college and part of the United Methodist Church will make this college well known.  The main reason why though that KWU is known throughout the Midwest is mainly athletics because of the kids that are brought here from all over the nation and the rankings that some of the sports at the school are ranked in the nation.  Even though Kansas Wesleyan isn’t a Division 1 in the NCAA, doesn’t have over 30,000 students attending, and isn’t playing their athletic events all over the television the school is known and always will be known throughout the entire nation.
